Massachusetts Home Learning Association (http://www.mhla.org/) is the oldest statewide homeschool advocacy organization in Massachusetts. Since I happen to sit on the board of this organization, I'm going to use my blog to shamelessly plug our upcoming fundraiser.
Now, mind you, in the 20+ years that MHLA has been in existence we have done very little, if any, fundraising so, as you can imagine, the tank is running on empty for this all volunteer organization.
We have teamed up with Barnes and Noble for a bookfair! What better way to raise a little money than to ask homeschoolers (as well as friends, family and neighbors) to shop for books?!
The best part about this bookfair is that anyone, anywhere in the country can participate!
Here's what you can do to help:
1. Friday August 13th shop at your local Barnes and Noble store
2. At check out, present the cashier with our special bookfair voucher
3. A portion of your purchase will then be donated to MHLA's fundraiser!
If you can't shop in a local store on August 13th, that's OK! Our bookfair is also available online from August 13th through August 18th! All you have to do is enter our bookfair ID number (10214633) when you checkout online!
If you have a new plastic BN Educator Discount Card, then you can use your 20% discount online as well as in-store. Combine that with the MA Tax Free Weekend (this Saturday & Sunday) for extra savings!! All the while helping MHLA in their fundraising efforts.
We have many fantastic events planned for the coming year but these plans can only be realised if we have the funds necessary to orchestrate them.
If you planned of purchasing books this summer, please consider doing so as part of our bookfair fundraiser.
